Beginner Sewing Course – Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms and conditions before booking your place on the course. By making payment, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these terms.

1. Course Booking & Payment

Your place on the 5-week beginner sewing course is confirmed once full payment has been received.

Places are limited, and payment secures your place for the full 5-week course.

The course fee covers all five scheduled sessions and is payable in full at the time of booking, unless an alternative payment arrangement has been agreed in advance.

2. Missed Lessons

The course is structured as a five-week programme, with each session planned as part of the overall course.

Unfortunately, refunds cannot be given for lessons that you are unable to attend. This includes illness, holidays, work commitments, personal circumstances, transport difficulties or any other reason for non-attendance.

The class will continue as scheduled whether or not you are able to attend, and the tutor and associated course costs still need to be covered.

If you know in advance that you will be unable to attend a particular session, please let the tutor know as soon as possible. Where practical, we may be able to provide information or guidance to help you catch up, but this cannot be guaranteed.

Missed sessions cannot normally be transferred to another course or exchanged for a refund.

3. Cancellation by the Student

If you need to cancel your place before the course begins, please contact us as soon as possible.

Refunds for cancellations will be considered on a case-by-case basis and are subject to the notice given and whether your place can be filled by another participant.

Once the course has started, refunds will not normally be available for the remaining sessions if you decide to leave the course.

4. Cancellation or Changes by the Tutor

In the unlikely event that a session needs to be cancelled or rescheduled by the tutor, you will be notified as soon as possible.

Where possible, the session will be rearranged for an alternative date. If a session cannot be rearranged, an appropriate refund or alternative arrangement will be offered.

5. Course Content

The course is designed for beginners and follows a planned programme over five weeks.

While we will make every effort to follow the advertised course content, minor changes may occasionally be necessary depending on the needs of the group, availability of materials or other circumstances.

No previous sewing experience is required unless otherwise stated.

6. Sewing Machines & Equipment

If sewing machines, tools or other equipment are provided, participants are expected to use them carefully and responsibly.

Participants may be asked to follow instructions relating to the safe use of sewing machines, scissors, irons and other equipment.

Any damage caused through deliberate misuse or failure to follow reasonable instructions may be the responsibility of the participant.

If you are required to bring your own equipment or materials, this will be explained before the course begins.

7. Health & Safety

Sewing involves the use of needles, pins, scissors, sewing machines, irons and other equipment that can cause injury if used incorrectly.

Participants must follow the tutor's health and safety instructions at all times and take reasonable care of themselves and others.

Please inform the tutor before the course begins of any relevant condition, injury, allergy or accessibility requirement that may affect your participation, so that reasonable arrangements can be considered where possible.

8. Personal Belongings

Participants are responsible for their own personal belongings and equipment brought to the course.

We cannot accept responsibility for loss, theft or damage to personal property unless caused by our negligence.

9. Course Behaviour

We want the course to be enjoyable, welcoming and respectful for everyone.

Participants are expected to behave appropriately towards the tutor and other members of the group. Abusive, threatening or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in a participant being asked to leave the course without a refund.

10. Photography & Images

From time to time, photographs may be taken during the course for promotional purposes.

We will ask for your permission before using identifiable photographs of you in promotional materials, social media or on our website.

If you do not wish to be photographed, please let the tutor know.

11. Agreement to These Terms

By booking and paying for the course, you confirm that you have read and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.

These terms are intended to ensure that the course can run smoothly and fairly for all participants while allowing the tutor to plan and commit to the full five-week programme.
